Golf Simulator Installation Houston
Golf simulator installation in Houston with Indoor Golf Design (IGD) starts with a free design consultation, then a 3D design of your room for approval, then a custom build and installation by our own team. Most on-site installations are completed in 4 to 5 days, and IGD custom golf simulators range from $50,000 to $100,000+ for luxury.
Houston golf competes with heat, humidity and rain. Between steamy summer afternoons and storms that wash out rounds, a lot of the year is lost to weather. A custom indoor golf simulator gives you golf at any hour, in a climate-controlled room in your own home.
We believe a golf simulator should be unique and a custom fit for your space and needs. A Memorial media room, a River Oaks garden room and a Woodlands walk-out are three different design problems, so each Houston golf simulator we build starts from the room.
Our team has over 20 years’ experience in custom design and installation and has completed hundreds of installations across the globe. Whether you are working on a remodel or a new home build, we can work with architects, builders, and designers to design your room from the ground up.

Service Areas
We serve the greater Houston area. Each area tends to bring its own kind of room, and the design starts from there.
Established estates where a golf room has to sit comfortably beside formal rooms, with finishes that match the house.
Large lots and deep floor plans in Memorial and the Villages, with the bonus rooms and media rooms that suit a dedicated golf room.
A community built around golf, with larger homes, lower levels and oversized garages that make good simulator rooms.
Master-planned neighborhoods with newer construction and three-car garages that can become a conditioned golf bay.
Wherever you are in the greater Houston area, we start with your measurements and photos, then plan the room with you before anyone comes to site.
Texas Luxury Homes
In a luxury home, a golf simulator should read as part of the architecture, not equipment parked in a nice room. Custom millwork and cabinetry are specified at the design stage, along with the electrical and AV plans, so the computer, the AV equipment and your clubs all have a place.
The rooms that get used every week are the ones that work when nobody is practicing. We plan seats for people who are watching, a bar or serving area outside the swing path, and a screen that can double as a home theater.
For country clubs, offices and venues, we design commercial golf simulators with harder-wearing finishes and layouts that move groups through the bays.

Climate
Gulf heat and rain shorten the golf calendar. An indoor room keeps it open all year.
Houston summers combine high heat with Gulf humidity, which makes afternoon golf hard work. An indoor simulator runs at room temperature, any time.
Heavy rain and storm season can cancel golf without warning. A simulator at home means a washed-out day is still a golf day.
Humidity affects turf, screens and electronics, so garage conversions get insulation and climate control designed in from the start.
Planning
Length, width and ceiling height each rule something in or out. These are the distances our own guides use; the right numbers depend on who is swinging and which launch monitor you choose.
| Measurement | What our guides use | What it rules in or out |
|---|---|---|
| Length (depth) | At least 7 feet from the hitting area to the wall behind you. The ball at least 8 feet from the screen, with 10 to 12 feet preferred. | Whether a full driver swing is comfortable and whether there is room for seating behind the golfer. |
| Width | At least 14 feet if the tee sits in the center of the room. | Whether left- and right-handed golfers share one hitting position. |
| Ceiling height | At least 9 feet for golfers under 6 feet tall, 10 feet for golfers 6 to 6.5 feet, and about 11 feet for taller players. | Whether a full swing clears the ceiling, and whether a ceiling-mounted launch monitor is an option. |

If a room falls short on one measurement, that is a design problem rather than a dead end. We’ve completed installations in spaces of all sizes with creative solutions and the right launch monitor.
