Golf Simulator Installation Austin

Golf Simulator Installation in Austin

Golf simulator installation in Austin with Indoor Golf Design (IGD) starts with a free design consultation, then a 3D design of your room for approval, then a custom build and installation by our own team. Most on-site installations are completed in 4 to 5 days, and IGD custom golf simulators range from $50,000 to $100,000+ for luxury.

Austin has a busy golf culture and long, hot summers. A custom indoor golf simulator gives you golf at any hour, in a climate-controlled room in your own home, without a tee time.

We believe a golf simulator should be unique and a custom fit for your space and needs. A Westlake hillside home, a Tarrytown renovation and a Barton Creek estate each set different limits, so every Austin golf simulator we build starts with the room.

Our team has over 20 years’ experience in custom design and installation and has completed hundreds of installations across the globe, with PGA Professionals on staff to help you understand your stats.

Service Areas

Service Areas: Westlake, Tarrytown, Barton Creek and Spanish Oaks

We serve Austin and the Hill Country. Each area tends to bring its own kind of room, and the design starts from there.

Westlake

Hillside homes where a lower level or walk-out can hold a full-height golf room set into the slope.

Tarrytown

Established central Austin homes, where a renovation, addition or garage is often where the simulator fits.

Barton Creek

Estate homes in a golf community, with room for a dedicated golf room, lounge and bar.

Spanish Oaks

Large Hill Country homes with the space for a golf room that also works as a theater and entertaining room.

Wherever you are in the Austin area, we start with your measurements and photos, then plan the room with you before anyone comes to site.

Tech and Golf

Austin Tech and Golf Culture

Austin’s tech community tends to want two things from a golf room: real data and no wasted time. A simulator at home means practice fits around a busy schedule, at six in the morning or eleven at night.

Data You Can Use

We sell and install TrackMan, Full Swing, Uneekor, Foresight Sports, FlightScope, TruGolf and more, so the launch monitor matches how you practice. Compare Uneekor vs TrackMan and Foresight vs TrackMan.

A Room That Does More

The same screen can run multi-sport games, racing setups or a home theater, so the room earns its space in the house.

Climate

Austin Weather and Year-Round Golf

Central Texas heat shortens the golf day for months at a time. An indoor room keeps it open.

Summer Heat

Austin summers bring long runs of very hot days, which push outdoor golf to early mornings. An indoor simulator has no heat and no tee time.

Storms

Spring and fall storms can cancel a round with little warning. A simulator at home keeps the session on.

Practice on Your Schedule

A room in your own house means practice fits around work, not the other way round.

Planning

Planning a Golf Simulator Room in a Austin Home

Length, width and ceiling height each rule something in or out. These are the distances our own guides use; the right numbers depend on who is swinging and which launch monitor you choose.

MeasurementWhat our guides useWhat it rules in or out
Length (depth)At least 7 feet from the hitting area to the wall behind you. The ball at least 8 feet from the screen, with 10 to 12 feet preferred.Whether a full driver swing is comfortable and whether there is room for seating behind the golfer.
WidthAt least 14 feet if the tee sits in the center of the room.Whether left- and right-handed golfers share one hitting position.
Ceiling heightAt least 9 feet for golfers under 6 feet tall, 10 feet for golfers 6 to 6.5 feet, and about 11 feet for taller players.Whether a full swing clears the ceiling, and whether a ceiling-mounted launch monitor is an option.

If a room falls short on one measurement, that is a design problem rather than a dead end. We’ve completed installations in spaces of all sizes with creative solutions and the right launch monitor.

IGD custom golf simulators range from $50,000 to $100,000+ for luxury. Because every room is custom, the price depends on the size of the room, the technology and software you choose, and the room finishes. Our prices include plans and room layouts.
Yes. We design and install custom golf simulators across the globe, and our team travels to you. For Austin projects, the design and planning are done with you first, then our installers come to site for the build.
Most on-site installations are completed in 4 to 5 days, while full custom builds are typically planned over several weeks from design to play. Commercial projects vary with the number of bays and custom features.
Our guides use at least 7 feet behind the golfer, the ball at least 8 feet from the screen, about 14 feet of width for a center tee and at least 9 feet of ceiling. If you can swing a club in it, we can probably put a simulator in it.
It depends on the room and how you practice. Overhead camera units need about 9 to 10 feet of ceiling, while radar units want depth behind the ball. We install TrackMan, Full Swing, Uneekor, Foresight Sports, FlightScope, TruGolf and more, and recommend the one your room can carry.

their Indoor Golf Design experience.
  • “A long overdue review. Indoor Golf Design is a great company to work with and if you are looking to install a golf simulator look no further. Everyone in the company is awesome to work with and very accommodating including the owner, Brad, Christine (who I and my contractor interacted with regularly), and the installers who came from to Arizona to northern Virginia to assist with setting up the system. We went through 1.5 years of construction and they were incredibly flexible and worked with us every step of the way including providing us detailed specs and input on both layout and design of the room. One year later - I have been very happy with the design and system that Brad recommended and everything has worked flawlessly. Look forward to using the golf simulator for many years to come!”
